The Yellow Palace is a two story building, constructed in 1850, and is one of the examples of the mixture of architectural styles used in Petrópolis, at the end of the 19th Century. Inside the building, marble stairs and fine wooden details make it distinctively attractive.
The palace used to be the residence of Counselor José Carlos Mayrink da Silva Ferrão , and was purchased by the Baron of Guaraciaba, in 1891. Later, in 1894, it became property of the town, and now it's the legislative house.
